George Strait Releasing EVEN MORE Hits
October 25, 2007George Strait is releasing yet another greatest hits collection–even more hits (22 more). His release of 50 Number Ones (an amazing feat) apparently didn’t include several songs that are fan favorites even though they may not have scored number one on the charts. On top of that, not all the songs were included in their entirety so that they could make room for them all.
The new offering includes one of my favorite Strait songs, “Unwound”, and other greats like “Amarillo by Morning”. Of course, my preferred way to get music now is by just downloading individual tracks. If you really like classic George Strait and want to stay away from his newer stuff, I’ve mashed up a collection of what I consider to be his greatest hits on iTunes…I’m not really concerned with whether or not they were number ones, just how good they were.

Aside from the obvious upgrade in the recording of music and how crisp it sounds, lyrically George Strait’s newer stuff is just as good as the classic recordings…the only difference is the sound on his contemporary hits is more crisp. I can’t think of another adjective to describe it…but the newer stuff and what he sings about is the same subjects he’s always sang about since day one of his Nashville breakthrough in 1981.
