David Allan Coe and Child Support

Wow!  David Allan Coe owes $300k in back child support!  That’s a pretty hefty amount, especially when you take into account that he only had to pay $4,000 a month to begin with.

This is a little surprising to me.  One of his claims is that he isn’t in much demand anymore as a performer.  While he may not be able to pull what he once did for live shows, and his albums sales may be slower, he still gets money for all those hit songs he wrote–and there were a lot of them.

According to the article, he ranks third in Tennessee for owed child support.
