Tom T. Hall — Storyteller, Poet, Philosopher (1995)

Been listening to Tom T. Hall @ work for the last two weeks.

“Storyteller, Poet, Philosopher” is so freaking good I can’t believe it. I remember having an album he did for kids when I was little, but didn’t think much of the songs on it. He has a TON of good songs though, some of which I never heard until I got older–”Faster Horses”, “More About John Henry”, “A Week in a County Jail” to name a few.

Definitely check him out if you haven’t before, or if you haven’t in a while. He is a reminder of what truly good song writing is about. It’s all very honest, and he doesn’t always take himself so seriously.
